Best NDA Coaching in Chandigarh
Most students who walk into our Sector 34A centre asking about NDA are in Class 11 or 12. Some already know they want the Army. Others just know they want a uniform and aren’t sure where to start. Either way, the first real step is the same: the NDA written exam.
That’s what our NDA coaching in Chandigarh is built around. UPSC sets two papers, Mathematics and the General Ability Test, so that’s where we spend our time. You’ll get regular classes, notes you can actually revise from, past papers, and mock tests that tell you honestly where your marks are slipping. Once the written exam is done, we also help with SSB preparation.
If you’re a parent reading this, the sections below cover the exam rules, the fees question, and what to ask any institute before you pay.

NDA Coaching in Chandigarh at Paramount
Maths gets the most class time, and for good reason. It’s 300 marks, it has its own qualifying mark, and it’s where most school students struggle with speed. We start from Class 11 and 12 basics and work up to the kind of questions UPSC actually asks. Every chapter ends with a practice set you’ll do before the next class.
English is 200 marks and usually the quickest to improve. Classes cover grammar, vocabulary, error spotting, sentence ordering and comprehension, mostly using old NDA questions so you get used to how they’re framed.
General Knowledge is the big one at 400 marks. It pulls from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography and current affairs. Nobody can cover every school textbook, so we focus on the areas NDA keeps coming back to.
On top of the classes, you get chapter tests and full papers, time with teachers after class to sort out doubts, and study material in print and PDF. Students who can’t come to Sector 34 every day can join live online classes instead.
NDA Exam 2026: Important Information
UPSC runs NDA twice a year. The NDA II 2026 exam was held on 13 September 2026, so the next one most of our students are aiming at is NDA I 2027. Its dates below come from the UPSC Examination Calendar 2027.
Cycle | Notification | Last date to apply | Written exam |
NDA & NA (I) 2027 | 2 December 2026 | 22 December 2026 | 11 April 2027 |
NDA & NA (II) 2026 | 20 May 2026 | 11 June 2026, 6:00 PM | 13 September 2026 |
The process goes like this. You apply online at upsconline.nic.in, write the exam, and if you clear the cut-off you’re called for a five-day SSB interview. After that comes the medical, and then the final merit list, which adds your written and SSB marks together. The NDA II 2026 notification advertised 394 provisional vacancies.
Dates can shift, so always check upsc.gov.in before you apply.
NDA Eligibility Criteria
The rules below are from the NDA & NA (II) 2026 notification, the latest one UPSC has released. The NDA I 2027 notice will update the date-of-birth range.
Who | What you need |
Army wing | Class 12 pass under 10+2, any stream |
Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy | Class 12 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics |
Still in Class 12 | You can apply while appearing |
Date of birth (NDA II 2026) | Not earlier than 2 January 2008 and not later than 1 January 2011. No age relaxation. |
Nationality | Indian citizen, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came before 1 January 1962, or certain persons of Indian origin, as set out in the notification |
Marital status | Unmarried, and you must stay unmarried until training ends |
There’s also a medical. The services check height, weight, eyes, ears, teeth and general fitness, and the Air Force flying branch is the strictest of the three. Our advice is simple: start running now, not after the written result. Candidates should check the latest official UPSC notification and applicable medical standards before applying.
NDA Exam Pattern
Paper | Subject | Questions | Marks | Time |
Paper I | Mathematics | 120 | 300 | 2½ hours |
Paper II | GAT (English 200, GK 400) | 150 | 600 | 2½ hours |
Written exam total | Both papers | 270 | 900 | 5 hours |
SSB | Tests and interview | Not applicable | 900 | About 5 days |
Every wrong answer costs you a third of that question’s marks, in both papers. Each paper also has its own minimum mark, which is why you can’t hide a weak Maths score behind good GK.
NDA Syllabus
In Maths, expect algebra, matrices, trigonometry, coordinate geometry in 2D and 3D, calculus, vectors, and statistics and probability. It’s nearly all Class 11 and 12 work. Give extra time to algebra, trigonometry, calculus and geometry, but don’t skip the rest.
English covers grammar, vocabulary, spotting errors, improving sentences, putting sentences in order and reading passages.
GK is wider. Physics and Chemistry sit mostly at NCERT Class 9 and 10 level: motion, light, sound, electricity, acids and bases, carbon. General Science leans on the human body, diseases and nutrition. History focuses on the freedom struggle and the Constitution, with some world history. Geography means Indian rivers, soils, crops and climate, and you should keep an atlas open while studying it. Then there’s current affairs from roughly the last year: national news, defence, awards and sport.
How to Prepare for the NDA Exam
Most NDA aspirants are also sitting board exams, and that changes everything about planning. A timetable that ignores school will fall apart within a month. Two and a half to three hours on school days is realistic, more on weekends. Put about half of it into Maths.
Start by printing the syllabus and marking every topic as strong, okay or weak. Get your basics from NCERT Class 11 and 12 Maths and Class 9 and 10 Science before you touch any NDA guide. Shortcuts only make sense once you know the long way.
Do Maths every single day, and time yourself. Twenty or thirty questions against the clock teaches you more than an hour of reading solutions. For English, ten new words a day and one reading passage a week adds up faster than you’d think. Read a newspaper daily, then go over the month’s news again at month end.
At some point, sit down with the last five to seven years of NDA papers. They show you what UPSC likes to ask. Start chapter tests early and full-length papers in the last three or four months. Keep a notebook of every mistake and why you made it. Look at it every week. In the final month, stop learning new things and just revise and test.
One more thing: don’t treat SSB as a later problem. Confidence, speaking in a group and fitness take months to build, not the few weeks between the written result and your SSB date.
NDA Mock Tests & Practice
We test in two ways. Chapter tests come right after a topic is finished, while it’s still fresh, so gaps show up early. Full-length papers run exactly like the real thing: two and a half hours per paper, with negative marking.
The score matters less than what happens after. We go through the paper, look at accuracy and time spent per section, and push weak topics back into the next week’s plan. Since wrong answers cost marks, each student slowly works out their own attempt strategy through timed practice instead of guessing.
NDA Study Material
You’ll get topic-wise notes for Maths, English and GK, practice questions with answers, solved past papers, mock papers and current affairs material, in print and as PDFs. Our suggestion is to read the notes the same evening, try the practice set before the next class, and bring whatever you couldn’t solve to the teacher. Keep NCERT books and a newspaper alongside. No set of notes covers everything UPSC can ask.
NDA Faculty at Paramount Coaching Chandigarh
Maths, English and General Studies are each taught by their own teacher, so you’re never learning calculus from someone whose real subject is history. The best way to judge teaching is to sit in on it. Come for a demo class, meet the faculty, and decide for yourself.
Why Choose Paramount for NDA Coaching in Chandigarh?
The honest answer is that the course is shaped around the two UPSC papers and nothing else. Maths and GAT run side by side, so neither gets left for the last month. Tests carry negative marking from day one, and every test is followed by a discussion of what went wrong. Teachers stay after class for doubts. Material comes in print and PDF. You can study in our classroom or join live online. Classes are small, with projector-supported teaching, so teachers actually know how each student is doing. And SSB guidance is there once you clear the written exam.

Sector 34 has been one of Chandigarh’s coaching hubs for years, and it’s easy to reach. Plenty of our students come in from nearby sectors, and some travel from Mohali and Panchkula.
NDA Coaching Fees in Chandigarh
We don’t publish one flat fee because it genuinely depends on a few things: whether you want the full course or a crash course before the exam, which batch you join, classroom or online, and whether an admission offer is running. Call 082848 07777 or drop by the centre. Ask for the fee in writing along with how many classes and tests it covers. That’s good advice for any institute, not just us.
NDA Classroom Facilities
Classrooms are air-conditioned, with projector screens, and batches are kept small. Tests are held at the centre under exam conditions, and teachers are around after class if you’re stuck.
Who Should Join NDA Coaching?
Class 11 is a great time to start. You can’t apply yet, but a year of steady work before your first attempt makes a big difference. Class 12 students can apply while they’re still appearing for boards, as long as their date of birth falls inside the window. If you’ve already passed Class 12, you can still sit the exam if you’re unmarried and within the age limit.
Coaching helps most if you struggle to study on your own schedule, haven’t practised under exam timing, or aren’t sure about things like whether you need PCM for the Navy or Air Force (you do). Whatever you decide, check your date of birth and subjects against the latest UPSC notice first. No coaching can fix an eligibility problem.
NDA Written Exam vs SSB Preparation
The written exam checks what you know and how fast you can use it: Maths for 300 marks and GAT for 600, covering English, GK and current affairs.
The SSB is a different animal. It runs for about five days, carries another 900 marks, and looks at whether you’d make a good officer. Day one is screening, with a reasoning test and a picture-based story and group discussion, and a lot of candidates are sent home that day. Those who stay take psychological tests like the TAT, word association and situation reaction tests, then outdoor and group tasks with the GTO, and a personal interview with a senior officer. On the last day, all the assessors meet in a conference and decide.
Our main focus is getting you through the written exam. Once you clear it, we help you prepare for the SSB.
Common Mistakes NDA Aspirants Should Avoid
The most common one is starting too late. Three months isn’t enough to cover both papers from scratch while you’re also preparing for boards.
A lot of students also go easy on Maths because GK feels more comfortable. That backfires, because Maths has its own pass mark. Others skip past papers, never practise against the clock, or keep taking tests without looking at what went wrong.
Some rely only on coaching notes and never open NCERT or a newspaper. Some leave current affairs for the last month and then try to cram a whole year. And every cycle, a few students find out too late that their date of birth or subject choice doesn’t fit the wing they wanted. Blind guessing on a negatively marked paper is another quiet way to lose marks. Finally, don’t leave SSB for later.
